#korakzajedno — Young People in the Community, Not on the Margins!

The project is conceived as the development of the production of K-LUMET wood firelighters, which are made exclusively by persons with disabilities, to promote inclusion and sustainable development. K-LUMET firelighters are made from recycled materials, which reduces waste and protects the environment. This project combines social responsibility and environmental awareness with economic sustainability. Employing persons with disabilities improves their economic independence, quality of life and social integration. Through work they gain skills, experience and a sense of being useful, which strengthens their self-confidence. At the same time, the Association and the community benefit through increased employment and the promotion of equal opportunities on the labour market. The environmental aspect of the project is key, because K-LUMET firelighters are made from recycled wood and environmentally friendly materials. This reduces waste and encourages the responsible use of resources, developing environmental awareness in the community. In addition to providing jobs and protecting the environment, the project has an educational and motivational role, showing how social entrepreneurship can successfully connect social and environmental goals. In the long term, it can encourage other employers to employ persons with disabilities and to use recycled materials, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable society. This project contributes to the local community, to strengthening environmental awareness and to creating a fairer society.

PROJECT GOAL:

By implementing this project, we intend to achieve a range of positive social and economic effects, with an emphasis on improving the quality of life of young persons with disabilities through their employment and integration into society. The key goals are as follows:

  1. Preventing social exclusion
  • To give young persons with disabilities the opportunity, after completing their education, to take an active part in the social and working environment.
  • To provide them with an environment in which they can socialise and work together with their peers, which reduces isolation and the feeling of loneliness.
  1. Empowerment for independent living
  • To give young persons with disabilities the opportunity to become economically independent through work and their own earnings.
  • To encourage them to develop work habits, responsibility and a sense of achievement.
  1. Employment and work integration
  • To create jobs adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities through the production of K-LUMET wood firelighters.
  • To provide them with a safe and stimulating working environment, with the adjustments needed for their specific needs.
  1. Developing work and social skills
  • To provide training and adapt the work process so that persons with disabilities acquire new knowledge and skills useful for their further professional development.
