SF.3.4.11.04.0126
PROJECT GOAL:
The project provides comprehensive support to adults with disabilities (PWD) and their families through three related activities. In Vukovar and Briješće, sports, creative, horticultural and work-occupational workshops are organised to encourage skills development and social inclusion. Psychosocial assistance provides group and individual meetings in both counties to strengthen emotional well-being and support families. Counselling activities cover the topics of employment, education, mental health, social inclusion and independent living. Systematic monitoring enables adjustment and improvement, which increases the quality of life of PWD and their family members.
PROJECT PARTNER:
“Ivan Štark” Centre for Education, Osijek
TYPES OF SERVICES WITHIN THE PROJECT:
The project includes three interconnected activities aimed at adults with disabilities (PWD) and their family members.
1. Organising active leisure and daily activities
This activity is intended for PWD and will be carried out in Vukovar and Briješće (a separate unit of the Ivan Štark Centre). In Vukovar the activities will be held every day, while in Briješće they will be carried out according to a predetermined schedule. Sports workshops, art and creative activities, horticultural activities and a work-occupational programme through taking part in the process of making K-LUMET firelighters will be organised. This encourages the development of motor, cognitive and social skills, the strengthening of work habits, as well as a sense of solidarity and of contributing to the community. The activities will be documented by keeping records, which makes it possible to monitor the participation and progress of the users.
2. Providing psychosocial assistance
Psychosocial support will be intended for PWD and their family members. It will be provided individually and in groups at various locations in Vukovar-Srijem and Osijek-Baranja counties, so that as many users as possible have the opportunity to take part. The activities will be held at least four times a year and will include workshops and meetings aimed at strengthening emotional well-being, reducing stress, developing self-confidence and mutual support. Through the work of professionals, users will have the opportunity to recognise their own strengths, develop strategies for coping with challenges and strengthen their psychological capacities. Special emphasis is placed on including family members in order to ensure comprehensive support and reduce the isolation of PWD.
3. Providing counselling support
The counselling sessions will be intended for PWD and their family members and will be held in groups and individually at various locations in both counties. The thematic units will cover education and employment, mental health, social inclusion, relationships and intimacy, independence in everyday life, and exercising rights and accessing available forms of support. Group counselling will enable the exchange of experiences, mutual learning and connections between users, while individual counselling will be adapted to specific needs. This ensures that each participant receives support in line with their personal goals, interests and life situation.
