PROGRAMME: LET’S GROW, PLAY AND LEARN TOGETHER! – HALF-DAY CARE FOR THE CHILDREN OF VUKOVAR
The programme has continued successfully after the end of the project. It is funded partly through smaller projects, while most of it is funded through donations from citizens, secured through the donation campaign “Be My Wings” – for the children of Vukovar.
As a picture is worth a thousand words, we decided to tell the story of this programme’s continuation that way – through photographs.

SHORT PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Children are one of the groups most affected by poverty and social exclusion, especially children from families of lower socio-economic status, children in foster families, children without parental care and children with developmental disabilities. By launching a non-institutional programme intended for these groups of children, we aim to contribute to their development and socialisation in good time. The programme will give the target group new knowledge and skills, socialising and games, and a useful and meaningful way of spending their free time through well-planned activities.
PROJECT GOAL:
The goal of the project is to prevent the social exclusion of the children of Vukovar and to create a programme that will give them new knowledge and skills, ensure the development of their potential, and provide socialising and a meaningful way of spending their free time.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
30 users will be included in the implementation of the project: children with developmental disabilities, children from poor and large families, foster children and children without parental care from the Vukovar area. The project will launch a non-institutional half-day care programme for this target group, as a preschool programme for users aged 2 to 7 and as a half-day care programme for users aged 8 to 12, i.e. children in grades 1 to 4 of primary school. In addition to professional programmes for children, the project will also provide:
- Workshops and training for kindergarten and school staff
- Minor infrastructure works
- Equipping the half-day care centre
- Training and employment of new staff
- Numerous activities to raise citizens’ awareness of marginalised groups of children
TOTAL PROJECT VALUE:
The value of the project is HRK 1,454,469.85, and
it is financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund.

27 December 2019 – 27 April 2022 (28 months)
