Vukovar – The Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities Vukovar Butterflies, as the project holder, together with the partner organisation “Zlatni dani”, the Association for Promoting the Development of Children of Early and Preschool Age from Štitar, presented an 18-month project called “SUPPORT – building the capacity of CSOs to work with children and young people in crisis situations”
The project runs from 23 March 2022 to 23 September 2023.
The total value of the project is HRK 458,086.13, of which 85% (HRK 389,373.21) is co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund, and 15% (HRK 68,712.92) is co-financed by the Republic of Croatia from the State Budget.
The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacities of civil society organisations to work with children and young people with developmental disabilities in crisis situations, to establish a mobile team of experts for crisis situations, and to support the families of children and young people with disabilities in crisis situations.
The project activities include work with children and young people with developmental disabilities, which will involve the use of assistive technology for augmentative communication, online workshops for professionals and parents on working with users in crisis situations, establishing a mobile professional team for working with children and young people in crisis situations, and providing support to the families of our users.
Through the project, numerous online tools will be created to help children and young people with disabilities and their families with self-help in crisis situations, staff of five CSOs will be trained, and in this way the capacities of the organisations for direct work with users in social inclusion will be strengthened.
Through the project, the professionals of the Vukovar Butterflies Association will be given various training courses needed for working with users, as well as numerous diagnostic tests that will enable parents to have their children assessed and diagnosed in one place. Our users come from all over Slavonia, and in this way we want to enable them to have all the necessary diagnostic assessments done within our organisation, and thereby enable them to be included as early as possible in various neurorehabilitation procedures (essential for early intervention and rehabilitation), as well as help them exercise all their social rights, obtain a teaching assistant, etc.
The equipment purchased for the implementation of the project provides technology that will enable families without adequate technology to communicate with professionals and therapists when online work is needed.
